Class A Refrigerator Fix
A big problem with many Class A refrigerators is how to keep the doors closed while underway. A friend of mine has solved this problem with his Fridge Fixer.
Class A Kitchens
Here are some of the photos of our member Class A kitchens. One of the biggest advantages to a Class A motor home are full size bed rooms, bath room and kitchens. Join us on our Facebook pages: Search Facebook for “Class A RV Owners.”
Best Vehicle to Tow?
Here’s a great article on which are the best vehicles to tow.
Morro Bay Rain Dance
RVing is a great adventure. From the early days of our RV experience in a 1968 Dodge van conversion to our present Damon Challenger 330 class A, it’s been a great ride. Our kids rode with us all the way until they went out on their own camping adventures. Some of our families best memories are around our RVs and camping experience.
In the 80’s we went to Morrow Bay State Park with another family. We had a cab over camper and pulled a tent trailer behind us. All the kids slept in the tent trailer. California was in the middle of a drought at the time. We were sitting around the campfire one night and playing guitars and singing when some other campers came up and joined us. Our friend Louie started talking about how his ancestors used to do rain dances to make it rain. So everyone encouraged Louie to do a rain dance. And he did, dancing around the campfire while we beat on the benches like they were drums.
Yes…would you believe at about 5:00 a.m. we were all awakened to thunder and lightening and a huge downpour that lasted for about five hours. Once the rain let up all the neighboring campers that had been around the campfire the night before gathered around our campsite asking for Louie–the Morro Bay Rainmaker.
Welcome
Welcome to the Class A RV Owners web site. My name is Mike Bayer and I’ve been RVing for over 50 years. I’ve owned a tent trailer, van conversion, cab over camper, class B, class C and now a class A. This site is the web presence for our private Facebook group, also called Class A RV Owners Facebook Group — This is a terrific Facebook group where Class A owners can share photos of their coach, share their adventures and ask questions. Review: Newport Dunes
We recently stayed at Newport Dunes RV Resort in Newport Beach California for a week. It’s in a great location and has its own bay/beach with a ton of activities. It’s across the street from Balboa Island and next to Fashion Island shopping center. 24 hour gated and security patrolled. 50 amp power and most sites are satellite ready. There is a 4 star restaurant in the park. That’s all the positive.
The negatives here are the price and lack of site definition. Prices run from $69 to $269 depending on the size, location and dates you book. We booked a third row back 25×40 site for $115 a night which was the Good Sam discounted price. However, when we arrived we were upgraded to a bay side site at no additional cost. Bay side sites are front in so we had an amazing view of the bay out our huge Class A front windows. But the only thing separating us from our neighbors was a chain link fence with some shrubs growing in them. Not as bad as a parking lot but now much better. Lots of noise from one of our neighbors. But they did observe the 10:00 p.m. noise curfew. There is space for a toad (tow vehicle) but not a lot. Trash cans were at the other end of the park.
Overall this a good park for families with kids and if you want to be close to some of the upscale Newport Beach attractions. Also good if you can’t get into the other coastal RV parks. This place seems always have spaces available.
